This course is a necessary requirement of the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme for Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS). The course is designed for gas installers who need to renew their qualifications in order to maintain their membership on the Gas Safe Register.
In order to qualify to undertake re-assessment, operatives must complete the course no more that 12 months after the expiry date of their existing qualifications.
Gas installers may also undertake the course up to six months prior to the expiry date of their existing qualification. In this case, the renewal date of their new CCN1 qualification will start from the expiry date of their existing gas safety qualification. Gas installers who have held the qualifications previously but have let them lapse by more than 12 months, must undertake the Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) training and initial assessment course. Installers may only undertake gas appliance re-assessment in modules which they have previously been certificated under the ACS scheme.

CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety (CPA1 module is included within CCN1).

- CKR1 – Domestic Cookers
- HTR1 – Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
- MET1 – Meters
On successful completion of CCN1 (plus appliances) re-assessment, candidate will be issued a Blue Flame Certification for core domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and the appliances they have undertaken.
